The bed was super comfy, although a little wobbly for us adults. But don't fret because the manager, Rick, goes above and beyond to cater to your needs! The owner was amazingly friendly and kind, and they even provided free coffee and tea. The balconies had breathtaking views and the place was kept impeccably clean. The location couldn't be more perfect. The staff, Dave and Courtney, were absolute gems, giving us fantastic recommendations. The well-equipped kitchen made cooking a breeze, and the female dorm had its own fabulous shower. On our last day, we were low on food, but Dave and Courtney saved the day with some delicious snacks. The hostel had an awesome atmosphere that felt like home. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a cozy and familiar place to stay. Thanks, Dave and Courtney, you rock!

Had a great time spending Christmas at this backpackers hostel! Loved how it was very quiet and had friendly staff. The location was perfect as it was near a bunch of shops, takeaways, and bars. The view from the deck was amazing, which added to the overall atmosphere of the stay. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed for a Christmas dinner.
The hostel charged an additional fee if arriving before check-in time, which we weren't aware of. Also, there could be clearer signs to indicate fire exits, as it caused some confusion. these negative aspects didn't detract too much from an enjoyable stay.

I chose Loft 109 Backpackers for its central location in Tauranga and Mt Maunganui, but I was pleasantly surprised by the experienced guides at Mayor Island. The two-hour exploration of the inner crater with their fascinating geology commentary made my visit truly unforgettable. the winery situated on 20 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds added to the charm of the hostel.
